[Elecraft] New K2 QRV!

Just completed the basic K2 last Thursday and appears to be firing on all cylinders. During construction I fired two technical queries to Elecraft, due to problems which I encountered. Both yielded solutions. One problem was of my own making (component incorrectly installed). 

The second problem concerned calibration of the >1.5V and 7.5V> limits in the VCO. Either the 80 or 40 band parameters were outside limits. Correcting one put the other outside. Adding 10pF in parallel with one of the capacitors in the VCO circuitry solved the problem. Full marks to Elecraft.

I have now built the SSB and NB boards but have to inspect and install yet. Next is KDSP2 followed by the 100W unit and auto ATU. As we say in the Irish language "T�s maith leath na h-oibre". A good start is half the work!
