[Elecraft] k2 # 3977 up and running but still some questions

hallo all to this community ...

k2 #3977 is now up and running and i am doing some
tests so far for my own. antenna is just simple wire(about 3m)connected
to the bnc connector.

i went the allignment in the manual several times to get closed
settings. also some options running ... 160m,KAF,KSSB ... but there are
some questions left.

1.W1 on rf board left ... or should i remove it (confusing with the
manual to me ) ???
2. the filter adjustment in the manual has definite steps to walk
through ( first for receiving and than for transmitting ). the sheets
show that they are both used for transmitting and receiving.
SO ...is the allignment of the filters a compromise between optimum
receive and transmit ??? - it is not clear at the moment if the filter
adjustment in the manual gives best performance for rec. and trans.
