Stuart and Mike,

I really think you are making too much out of the unbalance current, 
whether by induction or not.  Unbalance current is proportionally very 
small and it doesn't use up power.  It just distorts the pattern.  On 
harmonics, the pattern is pretty wild anyway, so a little more unbalance 
isn't going to be noticed.  The distortion is probably at worst a few 
tenths of a dB,  and you aren't going to notice a dB or two.
