I have been through airport security post 9/11 dozens of times with my
FT-817 - worst was Munich - where they did a wipe down twice with
explosive detection cloths after insisting I remove the carrying case (I
had to tear it slightly to get it off over the MP-1 mount on the side of
the 817 - tools were in my checked antenna carrying case - oh well).
Only once can I recall having to power it up. Once - more attention was
paid to my Palm Mini-Paddles.
