Hi All,
Thank you all for giving advice on the intl. CC payment problems.
Special kudos go to Gil, Paul and Bozidar
I got some new information by alot of direct mails not contained in this
thread.
I do respect their authors choice not to expose their experiences directly in
the list.
So to make things more complete (and possibly confusing) here is what
accumulated:
My initial finding on the problem where obviously just the part of the ice
above water.
It does help but is not sufficient to clear any restrictions at the card end
only. There are apparently more traps for your money to pass before it can
reach Elecraft. The envoicing parties status with the CC company may impose
limitations too. My local european CC agent could trace the declined cases (4 so
far) and remarked rather cryptically: Elecraft should check their status with
VISA.
He then removed any limitations from my CC for 24 hours. ( That happened on
Friday 2200h California time - good timing ! - will start a new round monday,
but paranoia tells me that you cannot lift the restrictions more often than
once a month ? ).
Another observation that supports the findings above: In three cases
everything went smooth when Elecraft splitted the Xfer into bits with less than 500 $
each. Even with restrictions on the CC side !
Hope this may help others finding themselves in a similar situation.
sales +at+ elecraft was allways very willing to resolve issues but I think
there is so much beyond our control that we need a common effort to resolve.
73 and thanks again..
Peter
