 Not at all. In my case in a 'base' mode I have a Timewave 599ZX sitting =
on top of my K2 and thus the internal top-mounted speaker is somewhat =
attenuated. Plus I just generally prefer a front firing speaker that's =
aimed at me ;)

If I'm in a lightweight, compact, battery op field mode I leave the =
external speaker and 599ZX behind (as well as replacing the heavy =
Bencher with a Palm paddle).=20

That's what I really like about the K2... it's almost infinitely =
configurable to the situation at hand.
