Collector, base and emitter are the terminals for transistors.
Drain, source and gate are the terminals for an FET.
They are different electrically different devices even though the package
may look similar.

Check out the ARRL Handbook Chapter 10 and Chapter 24 for more information.
(Don't have the Handbook, you should - every ham needs a library and the
Handbook is a good book to begin with).

Could some one kinda explain why some are collector base and emitter and
some are drain source gate( I think thats what they stand for) ?  Hoping
