[Elecraft] Magnifying Visor - Interchanging lenses

Hi all,
This has been a very informative thread, thanks.

Am I correct in reading that the various powered lenses for the 'OptiVisor'
can be purchased and attached to the "headband assembly"?

Also, and I'm sure this is a matter of personal preference, what
magnification/distance would be recommended for the type of work we do with
the Elecraft kits? One site seems to 'recommend' 2 1/2 power at 8 inches.
Others are more powerful at closer distances while still others are less
powerful at further distances.

Getting back to my 1st question, being able to interchange the lenses would
allow for trial and error without the cost of an entire visor.

Thanks for your comments.

Debco Electronics in Cincinnati sells the Optivisor line of products . . .
and he and his wife are both hams, I believe . . .

www.debcoelectronics.com and look under Tools , then click optivisors.

I agree that the optivisor brand, with the glass lenses are superior to the
cheaper plastic ones.
Heck, since I bought them to build the K2/100 and accessories, I found them
so good that I've recently renewed my interest in building wooden ship
models!
