Yes, realigning the filters should help a lot - and you can set them to your
preference for filter width and preferred pitch rather than just using what
someone else has chosen.

If you need information about how to do a complete job, look at the K2 Dial
Calibration article on my website www.qsl.net/w3fpr.  Concentrate on Step 3
which is the filter alignment portion.
