Dan,

You can select any of the OPx filters - they all route
to the filter on the SSB board.

It sounds like the BFO is not aligned correctly (at
least the LSB one).  The low frequency corner of the
passband should be near 300 Hz.  Take a look at Step 3
of the Dial Calibration article on my website
