I haven't had this problem of XP hanging at boot-up using a plain old home 
brew interface (never could understand why people pay good money for 
commercial interfaces when you can build one from a handful of junk box 
parts.) All radios suffer from the problem of going to transmit because of 
the key line being activated (don't use a PTT control line here as MixW 
does that using a software command) so it's a good idea to get in the habit 
of turning the radio off if you need to boot the computer.
