Never had this problem and the K2 is always connected to the PC. I =
would
have noticed yesterday as I finally got rid of my last program that =
needed
FAT32 files and changed to NTFS so there was a lot of rebooting. I'm
running a 1gig PIII with XP/Professional.

Subject: [Elecraft] The K2 and the serial port
I wonder if anyone else is having this problem: Running Win XP home with =
the
K2 connected to the serial port, if the K2 is powered on when XP is =
booted,
XP hangs while loading the drivers and scanning the serial port that the =
K2
is connected to. If the K2 is powered off, there's no problem. I've =
tried
this with a standard serial port, and a USB/serial port converter cable =
with
the same results. Having power to the devices connected to the other =
three
serial ports produces no such problem. I've not looked at the RS-232
interface lines yet to see if there's anything unusual about signals on =
the
K2 port. I have the KPA100 with the serial port integrated.
