[Elecraft] Please do not use Earthlink's spam blocker

Eric - I was going to reply in private, but the other Earthlink customers
can probably benefit from seeing this in the public forum. I'm an Earthlink
customer, and do use Spamblocker. It intercepts about 800 emails per day
for me and they're all true spam. If I had to download and process all
that, I'd rather sell my K2 and miss the mailing list!

Here's what I've found out about Earthlink's Spamblocker as a result of your
message:

There are three possible levels of use, and I suspect that only one of them
is causing you a problem. The levels are:

1. Turned off

2. Known Spam blocking (blocks only the large easily identified
international spammers)

3. Suspect email and Known Spam Blocking. For this level, only email
addresses in the Earthlink Webmail address book are passed through, and all
others are sent an email by Earthlink telling the senders how to get added
to the recipient's address book. Unfortunately, there's no way to do a
generic add of "@elecraft.com" to the list - you have to add everyone at
Elecraft who might send you a message.

I suspect that you are getting the messages for those with option 3 above
selected. I use option #2 and so you should never get an email from
Earthlink regarding me, but there's no way I can know if it is really
working that way. Please check to see if you're getting the unwanted
messages from me, and if so, we can advise your Earthlink-based list
subscribers to switch to option #2. They'll still get a lot of spam, but
only a fraction of what they'd get if they turned it off entirely.

I'll be happy to work with you to come up with the right recommendation -
let me know.

73, Floyd - K8AC
