Ditto -- in fact that seems to be the case with all DSPs I've used 
(599ZX, NIR-12, TS-570).  I've not used a rig with internal IF DSP, 
though -- only audio DSP.

I never have used the internal clock with either option.  I always where 
a watch and have a couple of WWV updated clocks, too.  Likely I will not 
use the LED lamp in the KX1 either (wear an LED headlamp in such 
situations).  Some of these options do puzzle me, but I expect someone 
finds them useful :-)
