Band noise is random, hence will not necessarily be high at the time
the program "sweeps" by. That's why the sharp narrow peaks and
valleys. What you have is a quite normal display for band noise.
If you had a later version of Spectrogram (costs money), you could
turn on the "peak hold" feature, let the noise play for a while and
you would get a rather smooth and accurate shape.
I note that you have the BFO adjusted to cut the lows quite a bit. To
my preference, I'd rather have the passband shifted 200 Hz lower or
so, to improve the lows. But it's quite a matter of taste.

It's my K2 at 14MHz using FL1 (OP1) on upper sideband.
Source is just band noise.
Is this normal? Do I need a noise generator? Why don't I have a nice
peak instead of a ripply hump?
