[Elecraft] re: KX1 Frequency Display (and Temporary Frequency/Mode Memory)

John and other KX1 fans --
The KX1 specifications mention that the KX1 has three frequency memories per
band. Actually, there are four, and both the frequency and the mode
(normal, USB or LSB) are saved in all four memories. The additonal fourth
memory is initiated when you tap the blue BAND button once. That displays
the current frequency and mode on the LED, or enunciates it if audible
feedback is enabled via menu item CFb or via one of the three power-on
audible feedback options, and saves it to the fourth temporary memory for
the current band. Having tapped BAND once, you can either switch the rig
off or change bands and that frequency and mode will return either when you
switch the rig on again or when you return to that band. John, when the
last displayed frequency didn't return for you, that was because you hadn't
saved that particular frequency and mode temporarily by tapping BAND once.
I hope this solves the mystery. This temporary memory feature is an
undocumented nuance about the KX1 that is a most helpful tool. Now you know
how to use it!

Subject: [Elecraft] KX1 Frequency Display
I notice that the frequency which I last tuned to before turning off the KX1
does not display when I turn the KX1 back on. I notice that it displays
the frequency which was used just prior to the last band change. Is this
normal?
