Great Stupid Mistakes.

I had the wrong DB9 plugged in. Lets see, I have one for the 756PROII, Writelog CW Keyer, and for the Audio Interface to the rig. I had the audio interface plugged in instead of the K2. I started to think why would the KAT100 still operate if the RS232 feature was kaput in the K2. So, I started to pull the cable out to test it and it led to the wrong device. Found the right cable and worked FB. Dumb!!!!!

The new motherboard I got has one ONE serial port and eight USB ports. Looks like I will be buying a USB to Serial Connector or two.

Now, I am going to label them for the time being.

Egg on my face :>0

I have a K2/100 with KAT100. This weekend, I put in a new Motherboard to the computer (566 Celeron to a 1900+ Athelon). It seems the serial port as quit working with the K2. Before it had. The serial ports works with the 756PROII. I am using Ham Radio Deluxe at this point.

I get a message back that the program cannot read the frequency of the K2. Has anyone seen this before. I have tried the following. Reboot the system. Restart the K2

No luck. Maybe a wire has come loose. I am using the one I made as per the K2 instructions. All I did was change the MB/reloaded software and then tried this. Again, it works with the 756PROII
