[Elecraft] 4044 lives!

Hi all,
Well, SN#4044 is up and running with SSB and KAF2 options.  I had very
little trouble getting it going thanks to the quality of the parts and
manuals :-)  I also had help and support from the guys on the Elecraft
IRC, especially John, N3DRK.  This is a great forum and I cannot
understand why it is not used more.

On the air from NW England today, spent a lot of time on 40m with my 150
ft closed loop, fed by 300 Ohm ribbon via a home made 4:1 balun and the
LDG Z11 tuner.  Everyone was giving me 59 using 10W and a standard
Kenwood dynamic mic :-)  They were also interested in the rig of course!

Also worked an Italian special event to be given 59 through a pileup and
a Croatian island for 57!  Mojo?  Believe it!  I have not had this much
fun in ages!

Of course, building this has now destroyed my construction career apart
from Elecraft products!  Nothing else will compare with this kind of
quality.  Admit it guys, your ultimate aim is World Domination!!
