[Elecraft] K2 Dial Reading Lower Than Actual Frequency by 70 Hz

Hi gang - I frequently check into a net on 7255 Khz. The group (all the
other members) tell me I'm not zero beat on the net freq. My K2 dial says
7254.93 when the group tells me I'm zero beat.
So off I went to go through the alignment process in the K2 assembly manual.
First I set the 4 Mhz oscillator using C22 via the N6KR method. Everything
went as Eric explained in his procedure. Then I did a CAL PLL - again
everything was fine. Then I did a CAL FIL - not really though - all I did
was go to LSB and access each of the four filters, move the BFO frequency a
bit, and simply reset it to the original frequency. Then I accessed the next
filter (FL2) in line adjusting each filter then resetting to the original
frequency until I reached FL1 again. Then I switched to USB, CW, CWR
following the same process.
Just as a check, during the C22 adjustment process, I hooked my old (20+
years) Heathkit counter to TP3. It matched the K2 dial frequency !! I was
very pleased.
Anyway, I went back to 7255 Khz and essentially everything is exactly the
same as when I started. So I guess I missed something or don't understand
something.
My K2 is SN=3043, with KPA100 - KAT100 in an EC2 enclosure, a KDSP2, KSB2,
KNB2, KBAT2, KAT2. The keying width mod is on order.
Any suggestions about either the process I used, or the root cause of the
problem (which may be my understanding) would be most welcome.
