I think you'll be pretty happy with the AADE unit.

This having been said, I'd like to take this time wwarn you AGAINST 
attempting to make your hand-wound toroidal inductor values MATCH those 
published in the manual. Not that it cannot be done... though it might be 
difficult. It's just not NEARLY worth the time and effort.

Follow the turns counts specified in the manusl, spread the turns out to 
cover about 80%-85% of the entire core and be done with it!

The meter will be great for verifying that you have the right capacitor 
(when you can't read the markings), or that you have the right indictor 
(for the same reason), but don't spend a lot of time trying to precisely 
match values... just know that they're in the ballpark and proceed.
