DOT/PTT on the K2 battling with LPT PTT creates a 2radio switchbox a
DISASTER. I've developed work arounds for that inconvenience, but 2radio
SSB is a different story. With miles of cables running to and fro on my
desk, yes, swapping cables when swapping modes is a pain....

I know I'm not the only one who thinks the PTT/DOT sharing is wacky. I
really can't see one situation where it would be beneficial.

Blake, how about a good old simple OR function, two diodes (the
microcontroller appears to be providing pull up to vcc) , one diode
(cathode) to the paddle dot side, one diode (cathode) to your mic ptt and/or
footswitch, both anodes to DOT/PTT. When you are on cw, paddles work as
normal. When you are on ssb, ptt works. No cable swithcing.

DISCLAIMER: This is just conjecture on my part, I have not tried it and the
voltage drop across the diodes might be enough to keep the MCU from
recognizing a closure. I would suggest you look into the spec sheets on the
MCU and make sure you understand the inner workings of the MCU ports before
attempting this and/or pose the question to Gary at support.
