Some times a 50 volt cap will be used because you have DC of say 12 volts or
25 and superimposed is an AC voltage of the modulation.  Dont lower the
rating of the cap unless you know the total voltage it faces.  You can
increase the rating, ie buy all 50 volt caps to get a price break.  But,
sometimes the rating has a certain physical size with it, and that is what
is needed to fit the circuit board space.

In short, buy exact replacements and you can't go wrong by forgetting or not
knowing all the design criteria.
