JC,

The Advanced class license is no longer be available to those newly applying
or upgrading.

But for now, the operating privileges for Advanced class have not been
changed (unless there is something I missed), so the frequency allocations
are still in place.

What happens to us folks who hold Advanced class licenses is still an open
question.  I guess I will have to apply for my Extra at the next hamfest - I
just have not had the incentive before, but in case the FCC decides to
reduce my operating privileges to the same as general class, I want to be
covered.
