[Elecraft] K2 (3956) and KAT1000 loss of signal

Go into the Menu and see if you can click all the relays using L0-8 and C0-8. If they are not clicking then something is wrong. Make sure you are in AUTO. Is the KAT100 on before you turn on the rig? Can a PC talk to the rig? Check to see if a solder joint has come loose in the wire.

While using my K2 this evening I noticed a sudden change in receive signal strength and low audio volume level. I completely disconnected the KAT100 autotuner and the signal came back to normal. Next, I re-connected the autotuner and got low signal strength, but when I disconnected the DB9 connector at J3 the signal returns to normal signal strength. Is there any way to effectively trouble shoot this communication link? In other words, is the problem in the K2 or the KAT100?
