The KRC2 is compatible with all versions of the K2 firmware which  
supports KIO2 and KPA100 serial port operation. The KRC2's XV outputs  
can be set up for directly decoded output or binary coded output,  
allowing you to either output one of three, or three bit binary output.  
The output terminal mapping can also be reconfigured to support other  
transverter configurations. I am working on KRC2 enhancements at this  
point, but they do not affect the transverter outputs. Your current  
KRC2 firmware should work just fine into the future quite a ways.

Yes, I am being a little bit vague here. This information is very  
accurate, but to quote an Apple person, "I am not in charge of  
pre-announcement announcements..."
