[Elecraft] K1 display alternatives?

Good luck with it, dt, and please post me or the list if you find success.

The idea landed with a thud on this go-round, which I can almost understand
from a trail-operator's perspective (though 1 or 2 mA doesn't seem *that*
costly to me). The K1 is my only HF rig, however, and sees more desktop use
than portable time. A display that doesn't require auxiliary light would be
a real boon, especially for those quick middle-of-the-night band checks.
