[Elecraft] Reasons to Split a K2/100?

Folks - one more reason (with much explaination),

If one wants to use the QRP K2, it is increasingly difficult to simply swap
top covers.  When the improved shield was added to the KPA100, it became a
bit more difficult to remove it from the base K2 - and then along comes the
KDSP2 that has the pressure pad on the KPA100 to keep the DSP module in
place (I don't think it will fall out myself, but the instructions say to
put the pad in place).

Now then, the combination of the KDSP instructions that tell one to remove
the KPA100 from the base K2 by sliding the KPA100 a bit to the rear first
rather than moving it up at an angle becomes a difficult task because that
means the shield clips must slide sideways along the side panel - those good
gripping clips don't seem to want ot do that!!!

So if one has both the KPA100 and the KDSP2 AND wants to operate the K2 as a
QRP portable rig, I strongly suggest that person look hard at mounting the
KPA100 remotely.
