[Elecraft] K2 Speaker Fuzzy

Hi

I mask off a square a little larger than the speaker and lightly spray =
the lid with contact cement like 3M 77. Before the cement dries place =
the grill cloth on inside of the top cover. This prevents the grill =
cloth from drooping down and touching the speaker cone. I also use the =
fiber washers between the top and the speaker. This was the way I did it =
with the thin grill cloth. With the stiff cloth Elecraft is providing =
now it is not as important to glue it to the top but if the cloth is =
touching the cone it may solve the problem. However it is important to =
use the washers between the speaker and the top to allow space for the =
new type cloth. If you do not use them the speaker frame may bend when =
you tighten the screws

  What I've done with my K2 was to add a couple 1/16"-thick washers =
between=20
  the speaker grill cloth and the frame of the speaker. This allows the =
grill=20
  cloth to remain in place (protecting the speaker and the guts of the =
K2=20
  from junk) while spacing the speaker away from the grill cloth.

  This worked GREAT!
