This might be a little off topic, but I had an interesting thing happen to me over the weekend while I was using Spectrograph with my K2.

I had everything set up and ready to go and I plugged in the PC to the earphone jack on the K2. I touched the ground side of the jack with the center lead and heard music for a second coming out of the PC Speakers. As I pushed it all the way in, the music stopped.

Well, upon furthur investigation...I found the music was coming from the local AM radio station which is about a mile away on 950. It is 500 watts during the day and 38 watts at night ,but usually close down at sunset.

I found anywhere I put the center lead of the SoundBlaster on a ground point...rig case, PL259, the mike shell of the 756PROII, I had KJRG booming through the soundblaster. AS soon as the ground made contact...could not hear a thing.

I have an extensive ground plane out in the back yard for 160 which is tied to the station ground so I suspect I have quite a bit of signal coming in on the ground plain and that there is something rectifying on the soudblaster that is making a pretty good radio.

As soon as there is a ground...quiet as a mouse. The funning thing is...I alway have worked at night on this type of thing and never in the day when the station is running.
