The basic K2 provides 4 filter settings for each operating mode. The filter
itself is a variable bandwidth 7 pole crystal filter. The bandwith is
adjustable from the front panel and you have the capability of saving 4
settings per operating mode. I believe mine (factory defaults for cw) start
at 1.5khz, FL1 and the sharpest being .40khz, FL4.

I have operated the Drake TR7, but am not that familiar with its
capabilities. If you are looking for a rig to be proud of, monitor this
reflector for a few days and you will have the answer to your question. That
is what sold me. There are not a lot of radios out there that can keep up
with the K2.
