[Elecraft] K2 First Alignment. Good but no XG1 signal

Rich,

Yes, W1 must be installed, and you must tune the K2 to the frequency of the
XG1. So it is really only good for the alignment of 40 meters (although it
may prove usable on the harmonics of 7040 kHz) and for setting the S-meter.
Usually band noise is usually sufficient to tune the bandpass filters, or
use a wideband noise generator - that way the bandpass filter peaking is not
dependent on tuning the K2 to a specific frequency within the band being
aligned.
