[Elecraft] What tools to build kx1

Hi

One of the Fluke models (87) I have has an analog bar graph along the =
bottom of the LCD. This bar graph runs at 10 times the sample rate of =
the digital display or 40 times per second. This is great for peaking =
voltages like an analog meter with a mechanical movement and it is =
autoranging. Most of the newer Flukes have this feature including their =
lest expensive model the 110.=20

Some of the other reasons to spend a little more on a meter like a Fluke =
is the ability to withstand the accidental overload and dropping the =
meter. The cheap ones just do not hold up to the inevitable accidents. I =
have several Flukes, the one on my bench I use daily (model 8050) is 23 =
years old and with the exception of replacing the NiCad batteries has =
never needed service beyond a calibration check.

  SNIP

I do keep an old analog VOM around for "peaking" adjustments where the =
input
resistance isn't important and I need to adjust something for a peak =
or dip
in a voltage. A slow DMM can be tough to use in that situation. =20
