Haven't had any responses yet. Does anyone use the Scan feature?

Hi folks,

            I've been playing with some of the secondary menu items on
my K2 (#3957). I have a question about SCANning. Is there a preferred
way to scan for SSB signals? My attempts produce hits on signals that
seem to be tuned off the center frequency. Does the scan feature merely
detect signals above a certain threshold, and the final tuning left to
the operator? I was hoping that the signal would be tuned to center on
the signal, like police and fire scanning radios (I understand that
these radios scan discreet channels). Is there a specific setup that I
need to know about?
