Gurus and all others,

        Found the problem!

        It was a cracked PIN diode (5082-3081) installed as a replacement
for D36 (1N4007).  Thanks to a bright light and a magnifying glass used
along with my usual Optivisor, I was able to see the fracture at the anode
end.  I temporarily replaced it with the original D36.  Fired up the K2 and
got 2 watts, then watts, then 10 watts into the dummy load.  So all is well.

        I will now resume testing the K60XV
