Good Morning,
I am finally at a computer so I can write the net report. I am on the
road in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I ran the net from a friend's house who
has more antenna hardware on his roof than I ever thought possible. He
normally works from 6 MHz to 10 GHz but somehow managed to get a B & W HF
antenna in there too. Thanks go out to Bobby Smith, N5ZXM. Unfortunately
the city of Albuquerque has a large amount of powerline noise. My normal
S1 or less noise floor was much, much higher this week. I am sorry if I
could not pick you out of the noise but it was around S5 at times.
20 meters was very difficult but thanks to relays from Mychael (yes I
heard you :) we got a few more. On 40 meters my luck was much better but
I did have some jammers working on top of me. At times my ears were
ringing from their tuning on top of me at maximum power. But we managed
to get a number of folks checked in. Thanks for the good wishes for my
Wednesday presentation. I am sure it won't be as tough as it could have
been because of the classes I taught for ARES earlier this year. Radio
amateurs can be a handful when in one room but I managed to keep the whip
and chair use to a minimum. My professors can't be any worse than a room
full of opinionated hams :)

The two lists for this week:

20 meters 14050 kHz 2300z

AA3WF - Mychael - PA - K2 - 1025
NE5DL - Dave - TX - K2 - 2887
AC7AC - Ron - OR - ? - ? (Which rig Ron?)
W1SCW - Shawn - RI - ? - ?
AI4BJ - Mark - KY - K2 - 3862
W0MFQ - Tom - CO - KX1 - 307

40 meters 7045 kHz 0200z

KA5UOS - Don - TX - Boat Anchor (this is a quote from Don :)
N0SS - Tom - MO - K2 - 008
K1EV - Bill - CT - K2 - 2152
AI4BJ - Mark - KY - K2 - 3862
N7NLU - Karl - OR - K1 - 1663
W0MFQ - Tom - CO - KX1 - 307
W7VXS - Don - WA - KX1 - 520
N5WLA - Fred - TX - K2 - 3583
K6HCJ - Marvin - CA - ? - ?

As you can see I did miss some information on a few of you. The band
conditions were not helpful nor was the noise floor aiding my hearing.
Next week I hope to be back in my rural setting with the low noise floor.
Then I will hear you better even if the sunspots do not increase in number.

As always the errors are mine. Please correct me as you see fit and I'll
post the errata later.
    73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
