Bob,
I am also building a K2, sn 4090. Thankfully, I've gotten to the point
you are at; and everything checked okay. If it were me, I would recheck
the solder joints to the LCD. Mine did not have pins sufficiently long
enough to go through the board; so I had to solder mine on the "top
side". From your description, I would bet (dollars to donuts) that you
have a weak or cold solder joint.

I have been building on my K2 for about a week, off and on, and I'm at
the point of testing the first part. Everything seems to be going just
fine except for the LCD.
It seems that not all of the segments are displaying right. In the
normal operating mode, the last two digits, after the decimal point
don't display entirely. I can move the VFO and the segments that was not
displaying now displays just fine. In other modes they work fine, on
some menu items and not on others. It is hard to explain but I hope you
understand what I'm trying to say.
Do you find the LCD hard to read at times?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Bob
