[Elecraft] kx1 suggestions?

I finally scraped up enough to buy a proper Elecraft rig and not just a
mini-module kit.

I am excited and waiting patiently for it to arrive, but sadly I will not
likely be able to start right when I get it because of personal
responsabilities.

But what I want to know is, aside from information detailed in the instruction
manual, does anyone have any suggestions or warnings about construction and/or
operation?

If your suggest is to pay for pre-wound torroids, thank you, but I'll be
winding them myself.
