Good luck with the new call, Trev! It's a good one and you're going to
like it!
But for anyone else contemplating changing their call, I have to agree
with Mark ... if you're going to go for a vanity call, be absolutely
sure !! After 17 years, I changed from N2ELW to W2LJ. I wanted
something shorter and with LM (my first & last initials) in it. There
was nothing available at the time, so I settled for my first two
initials instead.
I'm happy with W2LJ; but it took a looooooooooooong
time to get used to not being N2ELW. And while I've had W2LJ for four
years now; I find there are times, even to this day, when I'm extra
tired, I still occasionally find myself sending N2 and then catching
myself and re-sending W2LJ. And some of my oldest Ham friends still
slip and refer to me as "ELW". If you have a call for a bit of time, it
really becomes part of you!
