 I found the same two points confusing>

"Instructions Page 13
*Initial Test (4th step) I had a brief period of disappointment when I
pushed the BAND - button for 60m and the VFO indicated a frequency way
out=20
of 60m. Manual frequency entry solved this per the instructions.
  Use B A N D + and B A N D - to switch to the 60-meter band, which
should=20
appear between 80 and 40
meters. (If a band does not appear between 80 and 40 meters, see=20
Troubleshooting.)

Mine came up on 10 meters which was confusing until I realized it was
between 80 and 40 meters.

40 / 60 Meter Alignment (7th step)
*I don't know if this means realign 40m or tweak the 60m caps while on
40m.=20
I checked both.
  Switch to 40 meters and repeat the previous 3 steps

Peaking the trimmer caps didn't do anything on 40 so I peaked the 40
meter coil which seemed to work. I had 15 watts on both bands. When I
entered 5000kc manually it came up on WWV without touching anything.

Construction
*Plugs for J1 and J2.
There is not enough room for vertical plugs if you have a KAT2 and
KBT2. It=20
appears there is plenty of room for right angle plugs. D1 and D2 could
be=20
located on the bottom of the board to give J1 room to be mounted flush
against the top.

It sure is an inconvenience with the cover attached and I wondered how
I could listen since the speaker wouldn't plug in with the cover
laying in back of the K2 then I thought of the phone jack should still
work.

I also had the following SNAFU. When I replaced the firmware in the
KAT100 it wouldn't tune. I pulled the new MCU and put the old one
back in and it still wouldn't tune. I checked to see if the relays
would work manually and found it was no longer in Auto. The same
thing happened when I replaced the firmware in the KAT2 but I was
ready this time.

I really liked the new firmware for the DSP. the keypress is easy to
remember since the buttons are above and below the AFIL button.
Thanks Lyle and Wayne. =20

With the $200 this mod has cost, the total I have spent for my K2 all
option and KPA100/KAT100 twins is $2436.84. If I paid myself labor a
shop rate I could likely have bought the new $10,000 Icom, Hi Hi.

I luv my K2 and I built it all by myself.
