My K60XV is up and running. The build and installation went well.
My first contacts were AA9PB and K4OMS? who were both surprised and excited
to find out that a quality kit radio is available. I was running 10 watts on
battery power through a Jumbo BuddiStick.
The only output I have tried is the XVTR keyline to key my TT Centaur amp.
I have a couple of minor comments on the Test and Alignment instructions and
one construction comment.
Instructions Page 13
*Initial Test (4th step) I had a brief period of disappointment when I
pushed the BAND - button for 60m and the VFO indicated a frequency way out
of 60m. Manual frequency entry solved this per the instructions.
Use B A N D + and B A N D - to switch to the 60-meter band, which should
appear between 80 and 40
meters. (If a band does not appear between 80 and 40 meters, see
Troubleshooting.)
40 / 60 Meter Alignment (7th step)
*I don't know if this means realign 40m or tweak the 60m caps while on 40m.
I checked both.
Switch to 40 meters and repeat the previous 3 steps
Construction
*Plugs for J1 and J2.
There is not enough room for vertical plugs if you have a KAT2 and KBT2. It
appears there is plenty of room for right angle plugs. D1 and D2 could be
located on the bottom of the board to give J1 room to be mounted flush
against the top.
