Ken,
Info 232 say one of 2 things:
1) you are not on 40 meters - not so in your case
2) The internal counter probe is not connected correctly - or that the probe
is not working.

I'm not sure why it is not in the manual now.  My Rev C manual shows Info
231 for VFO counter cable not plugged, (and Info 230 for BFO probe not
connected)- Wayne, what gives?  It is properly documented in the Version 2.0
Firmware upgrade data sheet.
