Here in So. Cal., my Oregon-Scientific model RM103A "atomic" clock works
fine in any position anywhere in the house with its built-in antenna.
This little desktop gem is about 5" wide, 2" high and 1.5" deep, and
displays hh:mm:ss in 24-hour format and date in the format you choose
(mm:dd or dd:mm). Additionally, you are not limited to one of the US
time zones because you can set the offset to display the time in GMT.
Cost was about $12 from Wal-Mart. Their stock was quickly depleted when
there was a run on the product by local hams because it is ideal for the
ham shack.
