[Elecraft] Microphone elements - was cable problem

Dwayne,

The element not hooked up is just there taking up space - and that may
really be its only purpose.  Who knows why manufacturers do the things they
do!  Likely nothing to worry over.

I really think the mic design cold be for 2 different Heil manufactured
products, and it is just less expensive for them to do it that way - connect
the correct element to the audio wires at the last assembly station - they
probably put the Elecraft name on it at that point too.

Any bets on the fact that the 'other brand' Heil mic that has the same case
as the Elecraft also has 2 elements in it, but the electret is not
connected?
