[Elecraft] XIT on my K2 only 600Hz...

Is it possible to extend the XIT range? Tried to work some "up" dx-stns  but I think they usually listen at least 1 or 2 k up. My XIT only reaches +600Hz. Can I modify for this or did I miss something?
