[Elecraft] YES, K2 3724 alive in The Netherlands

I haven't been active with ham radio for over 10 years or so. Recently I
heard that CW tests are not
Necessary anymore in the Netherlands to get an A license. That triggered
me. wil CW disappear soon?
I still have the competence to do CW, I was a radio officer on merchant
vessels 20 years ago. 
My son is almost 8 now and fascinated by radio's, so I decided to apply
for a licence again. PA3CW it is!
Soon after I started to look for a transceiver. First I liked the 817
but then thought how long will it be fun? Just plug in another set.
A friend of mine told me about Elecraft and soon I was addicted to the
website and mailinglist. Last week thursday
I received my kit and my wife haven't seen me much last weekend and
evenings after work. Today I completed the K2.
No problems encountered during building. Just plugged in the speaker on
the wrong board (maybe I was tired?) but now 
It is ok. Adjustments made with just a cheap digital dvm. I could not
wait till I finished de antenna tuner so I hooked up a
10 meter wire in the shack tonigt. Just 3x calling cq I was answered by
G3IFB for my first QSO since 10 years! It is fun!
Must say that it was a lot of work to build but the set works
beautifull. I think I go for a bear now and check all the 
Possibilities of the K2.  Tomorrow I will continue soldering the antenna
tuner. hope it takes less than a week every evening.
I will keep reading the mail list to learn more about my k2 and am glad
to join the k2 owners community
