[Elecraft] KAT100 Questions

Gang -

Thinking of getting the KAT100 kit.  I have a couple of questions.

Power supply?  Does the KAT100 get power from my K2/100?  There's a "13.8V"
power jack in the middle of the back panel of the KPA100.  Is it just a
connector from there to the KAT100?

Receive tuning?  Once the KAT100 has been tuned to my antenna for each band,
does changing bands in receive mode change the tuner settings?  Or, do I
have to transmit for a second to trigger the settings change?
