[Elecraft] K1 RIT noise

Hi, all.
  I was playing around with my new K1 this morning a bit and noticed
increased noise level when I put the RIT on. Thinking it was set to another,
more noisy part of the band, I carefully zeroed the RIT. Turning RIT on
still resulted in an increase in noise.
  Anyone have an idea of what it's source might be? I'll have to dig into
the manual to see how RIT works on this rig.

P.S. I LOVE this rig! I really need to get a 40 mtr dipole up before the MN
winter hits! I only have attic dipoles for 20-10.
