I am afraid that dual simultaneous receive is NOT irrelevant in cw
contests. I operate with a reasonably competitive M/S team, and we
have found that the need to be able to hear a mult on your run band
is important. It allows you to time your reply with the mult's
rhythm while maintaining your run frequency. Switching vfo's back and
forth to check a mult frequency can be unnecessarily problematic.
