Sverre:
I think wonder behind the K2 is really a combination of a very large
number of things:

 1. Single conversion, low noise
 2. low power draw
 3. small size
 4. excellent portability (due greatly to two preceding items)
 5. 4 variable IF filters
 6. fun of building and pride therewith
 7. ability to maintain
 8. excellent tech support from Elecraft
 9. excellent additional support and info from reflector
10. stability of operation
11. flexible expandability
12. tremendous (remarkable) cw note
13. ingenious (amazing) physical design (minimal wiring)
14. cleanliness of output
15. good pricing
16. timely and creative upgrading
17. fun of operating

Any and all of these have been around in other rigs, but not altogether in
one rig. I think the K2 is just one heck of a feat. It's not easy to
think of how it could have been conceived and produced by anyone -- and if
that's not a ticket to uniqueness, I don't know what is. Wayne and Eric
(with later additional help from some friends) are what makes the K2
unique. So put

18. Wayne and Eric.

best wishes,
