[Elecraft] Starting CW Conversations

One suggestion I have is to dispense with the "wx-rig" stuff on your second
transmission and ask the other op a question. It could be about his (or her)
hometown or maybe his occupation or whatever. That often results in a decent
conversation.

Another thing I try to do is to look up the other op's call on QRZ.Com and
see if he has a page there. (Of course, you need a computer in the shack to
do this.) If so, I try to find something on the page to comment on or ask a
question about. That has worked pretty well, too. I just wish more hams
would put up information there.
